Flyers’ Prospect of the Week
Wade Allison has had a solid freshman season with Western Michigan thus far.
Drafted 52nd overall in the 2016 NHL entry draft, Allison has been red-hot lately.
On December 3rd, Allison scored a goal in regulation, along with a goal in the shootout to help Western Michigan pull off a 6-5 victory.
A few days later, Allison and the Broncos were back in action, taking on North Dakota. It was a tough night for Allison’s team, who ended up losing 5-1. However, the 19-year old winger tallied an assist on the lone goal.
Western Michigan had a chance for revenge the next day against North Dakota, and Allison had an impressive game on the scoresheet. He scored two goals, including the game-winner, along with an assist to lead Michigan to a 3-1 win.
The 6-foot-2 Allison is now riding a three-game point streak, recording 5 points over that span.
The Flyers’ were high on Allison at the draft, and for good reason. He has good speed, great strength, and a terrific shot. There is no question he has potential to become a high-level winger for the Flyers one day.
