A little over two minutes into Sunday night’s game against the Detroit Red Wings, Ryan White delivered a hit on Red Wings Tomas Jurco.

Jurco missed a few shifts but was back on the ice midway through the first period. White was given a match penalty for the hit and was ejected from the game. The match penalty ensured that play would be reviewed by the league. Apparently the Department of Player Safety has reviewed the hit and decided it didn’t warrant any further discipline.
White has been suspended before, back in 2013 when he was a member of the Montreal Canadiens. White was suspended for a hit on Flyers defenseman Kent Huskins. Despite the previous suspension, White doesn’t count as a repeat offender by NHL standards. “A Player is considered a repeat offender for 18 months following his most recent incident that resulted in a suspension.” -per nhl.com
Can confirm, there will be no supplemental discipline on Ryan White for his hit Sunday night.

White not getting suspended is a bit unexpected with the luck the Flyers have had this season. This means that Jordan Weal, the forward acquired from the LA Kings will still be waiting for his first game with the Flyers. Coach Dave Hakstol has said that he’s waiting for the right time to insert Weal into the lineup. No idea when that will be, though.
