PHILLIES:

DomBrown

The Phillies lost 2 out of 3 in their series this week against Nationals. Domonic Brown is out indefinitely dealing with a sore Achilles tendon injury and has been out since September 1st and has been diagnosed with tendinitis in his Achilles. Brown also told Todd Zolecki of MLB.com that he won’t be back in the lineup for “at least a week”. Halladay had a good start going six innings and allowing one run but walked five batters. Phils’ pitching prospect Adam Morgan is struggling with some left shoulder problems. Morgan also went on the disabled list this year with a partial tear in his rotator cuff. The Phillies finally signed 25 year-old Cuban pitching prospect to a 3 year deal that is worth $12 million dollars with a vesting option for 2017. A month ago it was reported that Phillies signed Gonzalez to six year $60 million dollar deal. Also the Phillies dealt Michael Young to the Dodgers and John McDonald for one minor league pitcher each.

EAGLES:

The Eagles season is finally here with only a couple days until the first game. Only CB Brandon Hughes and OT Dennis Kelly are still injured and missed practice on Thursday. The Eagles already said that Nate Allen will start at safety alongside Patrick Chung and rookie Earl Wolff. General Manager Howie Roseman admitted this week that drafting Danny Watkins in the first round of the 2011 draft was his decision. On Thursday wide receiver Riley Cooper and cornerback Cary Williams got into a scuffle at practice in a non-contact drill. Michael Vick and Brandon Boykin were there to break up the scuffle; Vick held Williams back as Cooper walked away. Riley Cooper said that the fight had nothing to do with his racial slur incident earlier in the offseason.
