While the rest of the league seems to be a wreck with shocking moves, we know that the Flyers didn’t do all that much, so stay calm Flyers fans for we are not part of the chaos.
Here’s what happened today:
Flyers traded Goalie Michael Leighton and a 3rd round draft pick to Columbus for Goalie Steve Mason
Mason has been with CBJ since the ’08-’09 season and has since played 232 games with 96 wins and 99 losses. His career goals aainst average is 2.9 with an overall save percentage of .903.
Mason’s stats are slightly better than Leighton’s .901 save percentage and 2.97 goals against average, but leighton has played less than half the amount of nhl games mason has at 105 in his career.
Last the Flyers picked up Lightning right winger Adam Hall off of waivers. So far this season Hall only has 4 assists, no goals. We’ll be waiting to see what the Flyers do with him.
That’s the extent of the Flyers activity on the trade deadline, unfortunately still no solid defensemen, but at least there were no heartbreaking trades. Unless of course you were a die hard Leighton fan in which case we’re sorry to see him go.
